Your Attitude is What Matters Most

So what needs to shift?

William James, father of modern psychology, once said that you can change your life by changing your attitude, implying that your attitude is what matters most.

This ties right into how we deal with negative people in our lives.

Jack Canfield (co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul) points out that when we encounter negative people, we often tend to later rehash it and talk about what they did or said with another person.

Doing this and re-living it is bringing us down to their level, and we’re not taking personal responsibility for our actions and reactions.

We’re basically feeding into the negative energy. If all things are energy, the negative energy will be transferred to you if you allow it to.

You could be having an amazing day, feeling on top of the world, then walk into a room where everyone is low vibe and negative and they start projecting all that negativity on you. Then what happens? Suddenly, they feel better and you are feeling terrible because that’s all been dumped on you!

Instead of continuing the negative vortex and sitting in the negative space, it’s up to you to shift the vibe.

We can change our own attitude towards these people and occurrences by focusing on what is positive about the person and the redeeming qualities that they do have. Recognizing that they are doing the best they can with the skill set and tools they have can help you show more compassion and unconditional love, which in itself is an attitude shift.

The Law of Attraction WORKS

When asked why there is so much poverty in the world, the Dalai Lama said, “wrong mantra,” suggesting that people are focusing on the wrong things.

Even in the Bible it is mentioned; ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will open.

We know that what you focus on expands. I challenged our members within Unstoppable Influence to focus on what we call #FirstClassLife for 30 days. They’ve been seeing more and more first class experiences and opportunities show up in their lives over these past several weeks as a result.

It wasn’t from years or visualizing or affirmations, it’s the expansion of where their focus is.

The things in their lives that feel first class, such as wedding china, or an occasional housekeeper, or their book collection, these things that give them the first class feeling keep increasing and coming towards them by the law of attraction.

The opposite can also be true. If you are recounting all the bad things, that can expand in the same way, and seem like it continues to pile up.

Whether you believe it or not, test it out. Focus on something and see if more of it comes into your life.

A NASA Experiment

It’s important to be consistent in your thoughts and visualizations of what you actually want.

Even NASA is familiar with this. They did a study on how their astronauts were seeing things and losing their reference point. They had them put goggles on which inverted what they saw, making it upside down, and were meant to keep them on for 30 days. Yet, on the 25th day, their brains began to automatically shift the pictures.

In another test group, the subjects were able to take them off after 15 days, yet ended up needing to do the full 25 days again before their brains would start shifting the images.

So basically, without the momentum, you may need to start again. It’s similar with consistency in your thoughts. People sometimes say the shift in attitude or focus “doesn’t work” but they haven’t given it enough time to see the effect.

It Can Take Some Time

It’s said that one of the top most highest vibrational emotions is positive expectation and belief. But people can be going strong then get knocked off the wavelength or perhaps it doesn’t happen as quickly as they’d like it to. Then they go lower and lower on the emotional guidance scale to the point that they are actively repelling what it is that they want, and they often don’t even realize it.

Some people seem like they can effortlessly manifest. I’ve become one of them by releasing the chains or a time-demand and releasing the “how.” I just know, believe, and have faith without insisting on a time frame and needing all the details right away.

Jack Canfield talks about driving at night. You don’t need to see the entire trip, every turn for hundreds of miles. You can get there by seeing just 200 feet in front of you at one time.

It’s all about the attitude shift.
