With the uncertainty of life, it never hurts to have a Plan B!

Looking at how much things have been shifting in the past year and a half, it is imperative now more than ever to learn how to monetize your message and have a backup plan.

You don’t even have to go at it alone, because we’ve got our proven Savvy Business Blueprint to help you!

We started working on our Plan B back in 2007, before the financial crisis, as we were still working full time. After building it up for years, by the time the Pandemic hit, the pivots we needed to make were minimal. Unlike many people, whose businesses and jobs were shut down, we continued operating from home. Not much changed, except that we had to change our big In-Person events to Virtual, which still ended up being huge successes despite the pivot.

During these changing times, people have been coming to us looking for skills. Some have mentioned that if not for their direct sales business, or other Plan Bs, they would have been in a very hard place since the start of the pandemic.

Yet a Plan B isn’t something that happens overnight. You can’t wait until the shifts happen, or a crisis ensues to create yours. You need to prepare ahead of time. If there’s something you love doing, now is the time to plant the seed, understanding that you won’t be able to harvest the very next day.

So if you want to start, or did start and just haven’t tended to it, now is the time to build it up. The past year and a half has shown us all that you just never know.

It’s Time For YOUR Plan B!

Many people realized that it’s pretty awesome to work on their own and that having a JOB isn’t always as secure as it may have seemed, which is motivating many people to tap into that thing they’ve been thinking of and wanting to do.

Which makes it great news that it’s never been easier to start or grow a business!

That being said, it’s crucial to go about it correctly and have strategies in place so you can carve out your spot in the marketplace.

Our Savvy Business Blueprint

Start out with the most important questions- What do you want to sell? What do you know? What do you love to do?

Way too often people will assume that what comes easily to them comes easy to others, not realizing that they can monetize that particular thing that they love to do.

Take organizing, for example. You may be a master organizer who can help transform people’s living space and improve the quality of their life. Or what if you are a meal prep ninja? You can save people time and stress while helping them eat better. Perhaps you are like Cristy Code Red and have the foundation laid but need a way to bring what you offer to the masses.

Then figure out who you are selling to. My Superpower is helping others find their ideal client. We’ve seen many people with very broad marketing, but as it’s been said in the advertising world for a long time, “If you are marketing to everyone, you are marketing to no one.”

Finding your ideal client doesn’t mean others won’t come to you as well, but it means you are targeting and honing in on who can you best serve with what you offer.

Then acknowledge why they should buy from you. What makes you different? It may be your story, life experiences, location, or a unique way that you do business.

Then after those steps are completed, that’s when you move on to design the brand, after the what, who, and why are figured out. That’s where you’ll come to building your distribution list, automating your sales funnel, and creating your brand evangelists.

Tap Into Your Knowledge

If you’ve got years of knowledge from your professional life, don’t feel as though you need to disregard all that gold. You don’t necessarily need to start from scratch. Instead, tie in the knowledge you already have and bring that to the table.

Education based marketing allowed me to get in front of a large amount of clients in my law practice by teaching continuing education. I would do estate planning workshops and talk to more prospects than in 10 typical network marketing events. So I was able to translate the story online.

We also used education-based marketing in building our direct sales business, affiliate programs we promote, and now our own brand!

Look at your skills and experience and recognize what’s all included in that. You can lean on those things to help you relate to people and build credibility with the people who are listening to you.

It’s so much fun serving people in creative ways. If you have a process you want to lead people through, you may want to have a Challenge and host a webinar. I put together a launch template that you could use at challengefunnelsecrets.com, so if you want to learn how to run a challenge you should definitely check that out!

I could go a lot deeper into starting a business and monetizing your message, but I’m dedicating a full session to it at our upcoming Unstoppable Influence Summit on October 7th, 8th, and 9th. It’s a virtual event, so if you want to dive in with us and learn more about it you can grab your ticket.

In the meantime, start thinking about your Plan B! Now is the time!
